Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

When We Meet

Classes begin October 1, 2025.
Children attend once per week at one of these times:

  • Tuesday | 4:30-5:45 p.m.

  • Tuesday | 6:00-7:15 p.m.

  • Wednesday | 4:30-5:45 p.m.

  • Wednesday | 6:00-7:15 p.m.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a beautiful, hands-on approach to the religious formation of children in PreK through Grade 1. Rooted in Sacred Scripture, the liturgy of the Church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori, CGS invites children to encounter God in a deeply personal way.

Children gather in an “atrium”—a sacred space prepared just for them—filled with simple yet beautiful materials that help them listen to the Word of God and explore the signs of our Catholic faith. We believe that children have a natural affinity with God; our role is simply to name that relationship and give them the tools to know and love Him more deeply as they grow.

All Children must be potty trained to be able to attend CGS.

Who Can Participate?

Our program is designed for children ages 4–8.
We occasionally welcome 3-year-olds who meet these criteria:

  • The family participates in Mass regularly

  • The child is somewhat familiar with prayer at home

  • Parents believe their child can benefit from the atrium setting

If you think your 3-year-old may be ready, please contact Jill Skaife for a conversation before registering.

The cost of preparation is $50 per child with a family maximum of $100.

Tuition Assistance is available for those in need, please reach out to Liam Riley if you have any questions.

We prefer payment by cash or check (include your name) delivered to the parish office.
