We look forward to welcoming your child into this joyful and grace-filled journey!
Is your child preparing for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion this coming year?
If your child did not participate in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) this past year, we invite you to join our summer CGS catch-up program—a one-time opportunity to complete this essential first step in our sacramental preparation process.
This week-long session will introduce your child to the foundations of faith in a prayerful, hands-on environment that fosters a deep love for Jesus and the Church.
Program Dates: August 11 - 15, 2025
Location: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church
Times: 9:30 - 11:30am OR 1:00 - 3:00pm
Who should attend: Children entering 2nd grade who did not complete CGS in the 2024–2025 school year
This program is required for all children who wish to receive First Reconciliation and First Eucharist through our parish this year.
Registration for CGS closes November 14.
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children in PreK through Grade 1. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in an "atrium," a room prepared specifically for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use. Children have a natural affinity with God. They need us to merely name that relationship and give them the tools to further know and love God as they grow.
Our program is for children ages 4 – 8. We have made exceptions for children who are age 3, and these children have thrived in the Atrium provided the family participates in Mass on a regular basis and the child is somewhat familiar with prayer at home. If you think your 3-year-old is a good fit for this program, please call Jill for more information.
