Meals on Wheels needs volunteer drivers, and if you have time for lunch - you have time for this beautiful ministry! Bring your kids, bring a friend, even share the fun with co-workers for 90 minutes on Tuesday or Wednesday every other week. Commit to a day and route or simply be a sub when needed. So many people rely on meals though this program and we need to make sure their needs are met. Can you find the time to help twice each month?
Help with Sunday hospitality - get the coffee on, set the donuts out, and help with set up and clean up once per month.
Greet and welcome those gathered for Mass with a warm smile, hand out occasional worship aids and weekly bulletins, and assist with emergency situations as needed. Have a keen eye for newcomers to our parish and those who need a warm welcome or assistance of any kind. Families with children may serve together. Greet at the Mass time of your choice. All ages are welcome.
Generous parishioners prepare and deliver gluten-free meals for our priests one night per week and the schedule has openings in January and February. Your culinary skills are needed! Time challenged? Another option is to purchase a meal from a list of approved restaurants and have it delivered.
Choose to participate only once or twice a year! Click here for open dates and more details about this great opportunity to share your culinary gifts. Still need more information?
Help prepare a meal at SEAS Church for Sharing and Caring Hands one Wednesday per month, then bring it to their location and help serve it! Along with our yearly Thanksgiving pie drive, you can help provide monthly meals to Mary Jo Copeland's homeless shelter in Minneapolis the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Donate jell-o or bars a few times each year. Call Renee Hartman at 651-437-6690 or Kathy Obler at 651-437-2734 to be placed on the calling list, or contact Faith to participate in the Sharing and Caring Hands ministry.
Assist in food preparation, setup, serving and cleanup at events based upon your availability. Time commitment: generally 1-2 hours per event such as Be Our Guest, Retreats, First Eucharist reception, etc.
Prepare dining room tables and buffets for funeral meals. Volunteers should enjoy serving food and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area. Volunteers refill serving dishes as needed, provide beverages and attend to guests' needs.
Wash dishes as hospitality services come to an end following funerals and other parish events. The commercial dishwasher is utilized and training is provided.
